So I need to miss class for approximately a week and a half in september to finish callbacks. Is this a terrible idea? Anyone else in a similar situation?

This is either a stupid question or a humblebrag (or both).

Miss school. Class means nothing if you don't have a job. Also, a week is nothing.

Why do people with so many callbacks always seem to lack a modicum of common sense?

A week of class is basically 2 lectures per subject, three at most. Miss the classes, ask someone if you can have their lecture notes (offer them dinner or something if you have to), go to your callbacks.

I mean, really people, not that complicated.

I had to miss about a week of class spread out over two weeks (I scheduled the callbacks so that I only missed each class once, but I ultimately missed all of them). The professors were all VERY supportive. Just shoot emails out saying that you have to miss class because you have a callback, and they'll be understanding. No professor wants to stand between you and gainful employment.

Also...

Law school is designed to make skipping class at the beginning of the term relatively painless, consider:
1) Your grade is based on a final exam that won't happen for another 10 weeks
2) The professor will hold office hours in the event you couldn't pull the rule out of a given case
3) There is an outline bank *somewhere* that you have access to for any classes you are in

Because of 1, 2, and 3, you should be able to miss class no problem.
