you'll be asked about your 2L summer job and, especially if it was a firm, whether you received an offer to return. If it wasn't a firm, you'll be asked why not. If it was a firm, you'll be asked why the switch. And you'll almost certainly be asked why that practice group since they're usually direct hiring into one. Otherwise, my 3L interviews trended mostly the same as my 2L interviews.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 10:17 amPreparing for a screener next week. Anon who just got an offer here, YES there is a lot of movement now. More than when we were told 3L recruiting was happening. Best way to get your resume in the right hands is to get it forwarded by a partner, so reup your networking or just email alum.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 5:42 pmRecent T6 grad sadly still on the hunt. Seconding this, I think almost every interview asked some form of why no biglaw SA, why no offer, etc. So you need to be prepared with a narrative that doesn't reflect too poorly on yourself.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 3:55 pmyou'll be asked about your 2L summer job and, especially if it was a firm, whether you received an offer to return. 2021 jobless grad checking-in here. Got an email recently from recruiting at a BL firm that I had previously applied to asking if I was still interested in the position - apparently firms mean it when they say if your stats meets their desired applicant pool they’ll get back to you!
I’m not gonna share deets (sorry guyz) but am only curious if anyone else has experienced the sameee

Just got an interview invite from a Chicago firm after lots of mass mailing. It looks like it'll be a Zoom call with someone from recruiting. Is this something I should wear a suit and tie for? Almost embarrassed to ask, but I've never had an interview with someone from recruiting before and not sure what the level of formality typically is.

Yes, wear a suit unless they specifically told you otherwise.

FWIW, I received a call from Lewis Brisbois after emailing them as a 3L last fall. Might be worth reaching out to them for those still looking.

Wilmer is hiring in a few offices (including Boston, to the person who was asking before). Entry level corporate associates. Unfortunately you have to apply directly with a full application, though. I’ve tried submitting people through recruiting and they just directed me to the careers page.

Re: The Vale of Tears (3L Job Hunting) (No advice for 0/1/2Ls)
Does anyone know how exactly being hired to a certain practice area works?
For example, if as a 3L you are hired into capital markets, how stuck in capital markets are you actually? And any chance of transitioning to another practice area within the firm at some point?

This doesn’t seem like a real impediment to applying lmao but thanks for the heads upAnonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 11:01 pmWilmer is hiring in a few offices (including Boston, to the person who was asking before). Has anyone been saying they are interested in corporate generally or do you guys name a specific area when asked?

I named the 4ish areas I had specific interests or experience, and general corporate. When there was a posting it always said what specific area. (I'm the anon who recently got a job, this got me multiple interviews)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 3:06 pmHas anyone been saying they are interested in corporate generally or do you guys name a specific area when asked?
