Re: The Vale of Tears (3L Job Hunting) (No advice for 0/1/2Ls)
I have a 3.46 from a T25, work experience, and a secondary journal but nothing special. I am aiming corporate but am not getting any screeners from big law. With job posts for incoming associates and news of classmates getting offers as a 3L, I feel dejected all the time. Is my gpa too low? Should I just aim for midlaw and lateral a few years down the road?

Congrats! How long between CB and offer? I'm almost at 2 weeks and morale is lowAnonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 10:51 pmOffer secured so happy to be exiting the vale and into a position at v50 thats quite honestly the perfect fit personality wise. Cb friday morning —> offer monday night
I couldn’t tell ya why I had a fast turnaround time. I will say tho that I’ve spoken to several people who secured biglaw jobs as 3ls and it sounded like they all waited between 2-5 weeks to get a response.

Passing the Oct 1st deadline today... should there be more movement now? Or does it look like classes are filled up?

As a 3L, I've honestly been getting a lot of movement from August to now - I don't see it slowing down either.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Oct 01, 2021 1:17 pmPassing the Oct 1st deadline today... should there be more movement now? Or does it look like classes are filled up?

Re: The Vale of Tears (3L Job Hunting) (No advice for 0/1/2Ls)
Data point: Just accepted an offer from a v10 and my cycle is over. Struck out at 2L OCI with only 1 callback and did not have a SA position. As a 3L, I had 11 screeners, 10 cb invites, 8 cbs, and 7 offers. The corporate/hiring market is so hot this year.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 1:04 pmAnyone without prior SA has gotten an offer so far? I'm starting to think this wave of 3Ls hiring is more for ppl with SA...

Can also confirm market is insane right now. Had a dozen screeners, 8 callbacks, three offers. Received several other screeners and callback invitations these past two weeks but cancelled them all after I accepted. Top 25% at T20 with no SA.

Looks like Fenwick and Cooley still have some 3L spots open.

T14, 3.7, CB with ECVC focus/West Coast Native Firm, Screener->CB->Offer 5 days.
CBs (withdrawn) from multiple V5s and V10s. I hate using those terms, but the market seems pretty open right now. I realize my stats/school but at least they are hiring... keep your heads up.
During OCI I was dumb and only targeted V10s. The higher you go up the Vault ranking, the more neurotic the people are. Vault rankings suck, all my friends hate vault rankings—go off of chambers band rankings.

Re: The Vale of Tears (3L Job Hunting) (No advice for 0/1/2Ls)
After one of the most emotionally taxing years of my life, I am leaving the vale of tears. Keep at it 3Ls, you'll get there eventually.
Finally got a big law offer from a V20. Law school ranked in the 60s, top 15%, law review, 2L summer at boutique firm.
including the 2L job search, I've had 7 big law screeners, 5 CB, 1 offer.
Just as a 3L, 4 screeners, 3 CB, 1 offer.
We're all gonna make it, keep grinding

I have had three screeners, two CBs, and nothing. Also it seems like the firms are filled up that they have started recruiting 1Ls...
