So if you apply to a firm on symplicity and never receive a response...should you just assume a rejection

Kirklandia Chicago is definitely done. Another confirmation. Looks Foley has filled all non-IP positions. There's nothing on my Symplicity either

I think we're out of luck. Half the firms I applied to on symplicity never got back to me in any capacity anyway. It sucks.

I finally got a rejection letter from fish and richardson, but it was completely messed up.

(1) It told me they were done hiring for the summer program and had no available spot for me. I find this odd because I am clerking for a judge and I was applying for a new associate position.

(2) With my rejection letter, they also included recruiting brochures about how great it is working for fish and richardson. So not only are they rejecting me for something I didn't apply for, they also want to rub salt in the wound by telling me how great it is to work at Fish, but I will never know that experience because they are rejecting me.

It's pretty rare to find a biglaw position at this point. Most people I know who secured offers during 3L year clerked part-time at a small/mid-size firm during their 3L spring semester. It's not 160k but it beats having nothing lined up.

Anyone else sorta give up for the time being? I've contacted a lot of firms and either haven't gotten a response or was rejected (almost no one seems to be hiring entry levels). Not seeing anything more out there right now, either.

They posted on our Symplicity a while ago and then reposted a couple weeks ago. Seems kind of tough to find the exact right match/fit for the job.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
