Skadden hours

So how many hours do Skadden associates actually bill?
----------------
There is an unofficial target of 1,600 hours to be bonus eligible, associates said, though there aren't any official targets. Some will “bill around the target and count a lot of pro bono.” Others see the expectation “as much higher – you wouldn't feel like you were doing a good job unless you were north of 2,000.” Juniors had “never heard of anyone not getting a bonus,” but remained slightly anxious. “A large part of it is how often you say no to work,” said one. “If you've said no to things and you're only on 1,600 then they might say, what the hell is going on?”
