want to change hotels

firm booked a hotel in times square. having lived in new york before, i don't want to stay in times square. can i ask them to change it to somewhere else? should i have another location in mind?

I'm also pretty sure firms always book with the same places- I'm sure they have some corporate discount/deal worked out. I would definitely not ask this. It's bound to be a great hotel and it's just one night.

I think so. It shows that you have real ties to the city. It also shows that you are confident and a go-getter, without seeming arrogant or entitled.

okay okay. it's not that unusual to hate times square. also it's not necessarily for just one night. but point taken i won't ask to change.

is the firm also in or near times square? if so, highlighting your hatred won't exactly be helpful.
