Callback or screener?

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Aug 25, 2012 9:47 pm

Mid sized NYC firm, came to OCI (NYC school), I didn't bid on them but sent them an email saying I didn't get an interview (wonder why) and that I would still like to interview with them. They contacted me like a week later offering to set up an interview at their office (I accepted), which is supposed to last for 2 hours (although its at a mid afternoon time when a post-interview lunch or dinner would not make much sense). Is this a callback and I just skipped the screener step? Also, would they bring up the fact that I didn't bid on them in the interview?

Treat it like a CB. I can't imagine a screen taking more than 20 minutes, much less 2 hours.

If they bring up the fact that you did not bid on them, just say that they were just on the cusp of your bid list. It's not a big deal.

Agreed, definitely a CB. If they do ask, I'd say they were on the cusp of your bid list and add that you've since learned x and y about them that made you regret that and follow up in person.
