Mass Mail Interview Question

When a firm interviews you after you've mass mailed them, is it considered a CB (they fly you out) or a screener (travel at your own expense), or does it depend on the firm? I'm mass mailing my home market, but not sure I can bear the expense of flying myself out for several screeners.

Ditto. Had to swallow the price of a trip to New York for a thirty-minute screener. On the upside I think they look favorably on your willingness to pay the expense yourself. I did not think the interview went particularly well but got a callback a few days later.

I think it depends on the firm. I had one where they paid and one where they didn't. I was too sheepish to ask anyway so I fronted the expenses myself and was pleasantly surprised when they sent me a reimbursement form.

This. Sometimes you go straight to CB, sometimes it's just a screener.

I had at 5 CBs through mass mail and no screeners. Firms I got the CBs from were in 4 different markets.

Congrats on 5 CB.. that's a lot! Do you mind sharing how you are so successful with mass mailing.. I have been mass mailing too, but I haven't heard back from any firm yet.
Do you simply do emails then follow up with more emails? How many did you send out?
Thanks!
