Any news on White & Case? I had a CB a little while ago and the radio silence is deafening... They said they'd let me know in a week. Anyone know if that's true for dings as well as CBs?

To OP, which office was it? If it was NY...what'd you think? Any tips or feedback for a fellow TLS-er? I have a CB in about a week and am pretty nervous. They only asked for a transcript and writing sample after the CB invitation so I wonder if they could hurt my chances..

OP here -

In all honesty, I really enjoyed my CB there. Everyone was very friendly and intelligent. No real curveball questions, just four interesting conversations and a great lunch. I really wouldn't be too nervous. They'll have a copy of your resume of course and no one wanted any other docs from me, i.e. transcripts, writing samples. I've had some pretty weird/intense CBs and this one was honestly a dream compared to those.

Re White & Case's reputation on TLS - this is something that's worrying to me too, but I've heard a lot of positive things about the firm too and my experience there was really contrary to everything I've heard on here. I'll just have to cross that bridge if I get an offer.

Any updates?

I got an offer today. I have also learned to take what TLS says with less than a grain of salt. It won't be a factor in my decision.

Thank you! Last Friday. My offer isn't in NYC though, if that's what you're interested in. Smaller market. I'm excited and going to seriously consider it. Thought I meshed very well with the people and liked the work they do.

There were 5 of us (more or less) interviewing at the same time. I spoke with the other kids, and they were impressive. Given that White & Case makes offers to about 30% of the callbacks they see (though I could be wrong about this number), I have to ask myself if I was better than 3.5 kids. To be honest, probably no.

I guess you're right. They have a reputation for calling back a lot of kids from my school and not offering many. Too bad because I really loved all my interviewers. I guess we'll see.

Yeah I think that's an accurate estimate. They call back a ton of people

got my ding today... best wishes to those still in consideration! i really liked my callback and enjoyed lunch with my group. (that being said my group all went to a better ranked school than me- i go to a T-20-- so, that's what i am telling myself is the reason for the ding)

=( I'm really sad to hear 30%. I had my callback last Friday and haven't heard anything. I'm out of town so I didn't get to check my mail today. It'll suck to come back to a ding. I also thought the other interviewers in my group were really impressive. Like crazy life experiences, expertise in particular industries, and advanced degrees. I went straight through and don't even have great grades.

Also wondering this + time between CB and ding or offer. Do dings generally take longer than offers? It's been over a week since my CB and I check my mail twice a day with one eye open...

Silence still of the W&C front? Does anyone know of any NY offers yet?

Still silence. Is it even possible to get an offer after 2 weeks?? Does White & Case have a "hold" or waitlist pile?
