Callback interview order Q

Post by piccolittle » Fri Aug 03, 2012 12:09 am

Why do many firms have you meet with people in descending order of seniority? Is it a courtesy to you, so you meet with the most influential people when you are fresh? Do most firms do this?

The order of the people you meet at a CB is more a function of their schedule than anything else. E.g. Partner X has a conference call at 10:30, so lets slot her with law student at 10. Capiche?

Fair enough, I guess I'm just seeing a disproportionate number of these kind of schedules.

Some firms may do something purposeful, but it really is random. The ones I can think of were actually disproportionately partner heavy at the end of the schedule.

* shrug *
