Bid List -- Top 15% at Georgetown -- NYC & SF/SV
Posted: Wed Jul 18, 2012 12:01 pm
If anyone could critique or offer suggestions on my bid list, I'd really appreciate it. My priorities are: job in the Bay Area > job in New York >> job in home market >>> no job anywhere.
I've tried to take into account selectivity, difficulty of getting an interview at EIW, and summer class sizes. Difficulty of getting an interview doesn't necessarily correlate with selectivity because some firms have separate schedules for each office, and some firms interview for all offices together.
I have pre-EIW interview set up with some firms, so they aren't on my list. They are:
Skadden (SV)
Jones Day (SV)
Orrick (SF)
dla piper (SV)
K&L Gates (SF)
Davis Polk (SV)
Sheppard Mullin (SF)
Fenwick is the other obvious one missing; I've emailed them and gotten in touch with a contact there, because they're not coming to our EIW. The bid list goes to 50, but I think these are all the firms I realistically have a shot at getting an interview at. My focus is on corporate/transactional practice. Thanks.
