Ties to LA

How focused on ties are big LA firms? My family is moving out to Las Vegas, so I'm curious. I go to school out east.

Firms with LA offices don't really care about ties to the city. It's LA, people understand why you would want to move/live there.

OC, however, is a bit different. Much more parochial.

LA summer associate here. I would disagree. Ties seem to be pretty helpful from what I've seen, but not a necessary requirement obviously.
