Since no one takes the DC bar, and you can waive in frm any state, do offers for DC biglaw offices care where you take the bar? Do they demand you take MD or VA?

Ask your firm. Some NYC based firms require NYC. Other firms don't care so long as you waive in to DC. Some firms will only reimburse for neighboring states. Some firms will reimburse fees for any state in which they have an office. This is something that can only be accurately answered by speaking with your firm. If you are a rising 2L, you can cross this bridge during your 2L SA.Royal wrote:Since no one takes the DC bar, and you can waive in frm any state, do offers for DC biglaw offices care where you take the bar? If there is any chance you might end up as a solo, in a small firm that's DC only, or in public interest/local govt work in DC you might need to just take DC directly. It takes months (like 6-9) for the waiver process if you're coming in from another state.
