I have a 3.5 at UCLA/USC with strong ties to Socal. No law review or journal.

Don't care as much about the prestige of the firm...

Any help would be appreciated (if there are any glaring mistakes or any firms I should have included, etc.) Thanks in advance...

I'm in a similar situation. If at all possible, I'd appreciate it if the second poster could answer the question in this thread, rather than by PM. This would also help people down the road. There is far too little information for UCLA/USC and the LA market in general on this site.

Ok. I am going to do this on a scale of 1 to 5, with a 1 being no chance and a 5 being a really good chance.

Of course, these are just best estimates on my part.

Good luck to both of you

Can I just ask where a 3.5 at UCLA/USC would rank someone? I'm curious because im looking at LA/Socal firms too from a T30 and would like to gauge (e.g. if that's top 20% at UCLA and I'm top 10%, my chancs are presumably similar or more likely worse).

I believe this is correct. No one knows for sure obviously. But if median is actually 3.2 and Order of the Coif is somewhere around 3.7, 3.5 should be close to top 25% based on the formula that's been posted elsewhere on this site.

Does anyone know anything about Jeffer Mangels (firm culture, selectivity, etc.)?
