So I am not sure what median at CLS is now or was before, but I am guessing I am pretty close to it with a 3.33. I am pretty inept at this bidding process. I have come up with a list (due today, ha) that I'm hoping people might be able to give me some advice about. I would prefer litigation, but really am just interested in getting a job. These are all NYC:

1. mayer brown llp
2. proskauer rose llp
3. Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP
4. Kaye Scholer LLP
5. Greenberg Traurig LLP
6. hogan lovells US LLP
7. Shearman & Sterling LLP
8. Kirkland & Ellis LLP
9. Latham & Watkins LLP
10. clifford chance US LLP
11. Jones Day
12. Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP
13. Allen & Overy LLP
14. Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP
15. Alston & Bird LLP
16. Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP
17. Ropes & Gray
18. dla piper
19. katten muchin rosenman llp
20. Bingham McCutchen LLP
21. Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP
22. Chadbourne & Parke LLP
23. Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy LLP
24. Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP

I think you definitely have a decent shot at all these firms. I would even tell you that you might have a shot at some of the V20s that you don't have -- e.g. maybe Gibson, Debevoise, or Cleary.

I would move up SRZ. They take lots of median CLS people, but lots of people bid on them, so you want them high on your list. Also, you want to focus on firms with the biggest class sizes, so why is Mayer Brown at the top of your list? I think they have a small summer class in NY. Isn't Kaye Scholer also pretty small? I am guessing you put these first because of your interest in litigation?

Also, be on your computer at the minute add/drop begins and add as many NY interviews as possible. Your likelihood of getting an offer is pretty high (I was median at CLS after 1L and got five offers) but you want as many interviews as possible to up your chances. Also, mass mail beginning around July 20.
