Thanks. Wonder why they bother to imply “diversity.”Anonymous User wrote:Both terms have the same meaning. Any law student can apply.
The program is meant to give minority law students-- those tradtionally shut out of big firms-- the ability to interview.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks. Wonder why they bother to imply “diversity.”Anonymous User wrote:Both terms have the same meaning. Any law student can apply.
Shut out of big firms because of median-ish grades or because of attending a non-T14 school (or perhaps those at a T14 with median-ish grades)?Anonymous User wrote:The program is meant to give minority law students-- those tradtionally shut out of big firms-- the ability to interview.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks. I just got an email invite. I only applied because our Career Services Office said that anyone could and should apply, but I am a white, straight, male. I honestly don't expect anything out of it and mostly signed up for interview practice before OCI. Would it be weird if I went anyway?Anonymous User wrote:Any word yet? This is the week, right?
Yes. Unless you have on your resume that you speak a minority ethnicity's language? But I think TCR is that you shouldn't go if you are not a minority.Anonymous User wrote:Would it be weird if I went anyway?
Probably the right call. Thanks.Anonymous User wrote:Yes. Unless you have on your resume that you speak a minority ethnicity's language? But I think TCR is that you shouldn't go if you are not a minority.Anonymous User wrote:Would it be weird if I went anyway?
I disagree. The agencies and firms liked your credentials. You will benefit from this.Anonymous User wrote:Probably the right call. Thanks.Anonymous User wrote:Yes. OP here. But they were assuming that I would somehow add to their "diversity" when they selected me, right? Which I can't. So...Anonymous User wrote:I disagree. T-30, top 20ish %, LR, Strong DE ties - Non URM (white male)Anonymous User wrote:People who received invites, can you tell us your grades, school range, and ties to the area? Above median at lower T14 here, non URM minority, no ties to DE and I haven't gotten an invite.
Rising 2L. Yes. Looks fairly promising. . . good enough for a short drive with no overnight stay required.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone else gotten an invite to this? They said they would get back to us with an invite, waitlist, or decline, but I haven't heard anything. I'm a 3L in case it makes a difference.
I'm still waiting also.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone else gotten an invite to this? They said they would get back to us with an invite, waitlist, or decline, but I haven't heard anything. I'm a 3L in case it makes a difference.
