I understand that the market for lawyers in on the decline. Is this for ALL Lawyers or for those in specific fields.

For example: if one specializes in Criminal Law is the demand for criminal defense attorneys on the decline or rise or steady? Criminals never take a break thus there will always be a need for Criminal Defense Lawyers.

See finding potential criminal clients is easy as shit. The problem is finding clients who 1) can pay you, 2) want to pay you, and 3) aren't shitty clients (won't skip out on bond and will show up to your hearings and be forthcoming with information, etc.). These clients are in not in as large a supply as you might think.

And having worked for a couple from firms, the recession hit us too. Criminals and their families get hit by the down turn and were more likely to go to the PD than to pay our rates than they were in the past.
