How to secure biglaw from a T2?

T2 in NYC, top 5% at end of 1L. Good work experience, good interviewer. Very weak OCI at school. Want to land biglaw, prestige of the firm is much less important than simply securing a job.

What is the best strategy here? Focus bids on firms that have very large SA classes and that are likely to take SAs from a lot of law schools instead of just taking SAs from the T14?

Anyone want to give stories of their success coming from a similar situation?

By T2, what do you mean, USNWR-rank wise?

The best option, odds-wise, would be to transfer (ideally to CLS/NYU) and do OCI at your new school.

OCI at SJU is going to be tough. Did you make law review? In previous years, even students on law review that had great grades didn't get market paying SAs. You need to mass mail any firm that isn't coming to OCI and I'm sure some of them will bite. At that point its up to you.

Alternatively, consider transferring to NYU/CLS or another T14.
