What a great profession we all choose to embark on. BC Law has listed a $10,000/year associate position at a small firm in Boston. The position is touted as one that will provide "valuable experience" to the new associates. "Valuable experience" in the form of begging on the streets and sleeping in subways.

Yeah ... I read this. I also know that there are are ton of market paying SA positions (since I am preparing for OCI), at least in the market I'm interested in. I struggle to understand why law firms would pay 30 grand for a 2L (i guess rising 3L) when they aren't paying for grads. My guess is this position is a bit sensational, a bit illegal, a bit ridiculous -- and I would imagine some students are facing these bad decisions --- but not all, and not even close to all. Also, going to BC should be a known risk since you're competing against students from several higher ranked schools -- Harvard, NYU, Columbia, Yale, etc.

My theory is T14 or high state school scholly, nothing in between it's just a waste.
