Follow-Up Phone Calls?

Post by Rose789 » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:11 pm

After e-mailing in application materials to a law firm, should one make a follow-up phone call at some point (say, one week) afterwards?

I am debating whether to do this - whether this is perceived as positive interest in the firm or looked down upon.

Any advice? If yes, what should a law student say as an opening, that sort of thing? I am never sure of proper etiquette with things like this, and I would really appreciate any input at all!
