Midsized firm compensation scale
There are lots of data on biglaw yearly compensation (which are pretty much the same maybe except for bonuses and billable requirements), but what happens in mid/small firms? By midsized, I mean places where the salary is 120-140k, at least 100k. Is there a similar rate of raises in those places too, or is it more static?

My midsize firm starts at $145k and has small raises (escalating from $5k to $15k with advancement).

Acccording to the 2011 NALP report, you need to be at a firm with 700+ attorneys. The median for 501-700 attorneys is $ 120,000. Goes down from there so it depends on whay you mean by medium size. Obviously, there are some regional differences and areas of practice differences.

There is so much wrong with this statement I don't know where to start, but # attys doesn't matter when you have NALP to tell you what a given firm pays. Actually, the NALP numbers correspond with a lot of attorneys pay that I know of and my firm as well. There are differences such as there are many firms 50 and below that pay BELOW the NALP numbers, particularly in the family law, consumer bankrupty, collections and general practice firms.

You are missing my point.
