First off, conventional wisdom(tls nonsense) says district court internships aren't all that prestigious. Second, you can't reneg on a judge.

But seriously OP, better for you to make this mistake now than emailing the judge and say "Your Honor, I'm very sorry, but I'm going to re-nig on your offer."

Not one of my better moments lol. I could blame my shitty spelling on a lot of things going on right now, but there's no point. Advice would be helpful though.

Does the other option have any chance of turning into something permanent? Assuming no, I think you have to go with the judge. It probably will do more for you honestly if you're below median.

With low grades you need anything prestigious on your resume you can get. Unless your other offer has a chance of turning into a permanent position I would stay with the judge, especially after 2 months.

It won't turn into something permanent, but I'm not sure the judicial internship will either. I'm not even 100% sure I want to do the traditional practice of law. Before everyone shits on me, I will leave school with both a JD and MPA, as well as a smaller amount of debt than most of my peers. I just hate the idea of changing my mind so late in the game.

If the internship isn't permanent, you need to take the judge.

Most people don't get paid at all to work for judges. Consider it a great opportunity. The judge will be furious if you drop now.
