When I'm applying for jobs via email, no matter if I click show as icon or not on my side, on the recipients side all of my attachments are never icons. It makes the email look like it is incredibly long, when in reality it is just two sentences and attached resume, cover letter, writing sample, transcript, etc.

Is this bad and how do I fix this?

I'm using apple's email client on a macbook pro.
