Why don't you just reach out to the V25 now if you regret turning them down?

OP here. Considered that... but it seems premature since I haven't even done my SA yet... I mean, what would I even say?

Don't do that. Just reach out to your contact at the firm after you've received an offer from the V5. Also be sure to state that you actually received a permanent offer.

Wow, you must have determined a pretty specific interest since within that firm range both probably offer the same general corp/lit opportunities. What changed over the past semester?

I'd rather not get into specifics. A bit paranoid, I realize, but there is an obvious risk in outing myself/the firms to which I am referring. I'll just say that it is not about some narrow interest so much as where the two firms are head-quarted and how their practices are shaped by their respective locations.

Can anyone else confirm this? Has anyone had experience with this?

Yes, I know someone who did exactly this. But to be fair, it was after they experienced the summer and didn't really like it.
