This was my only offer so I didn't really have a choice, but my firm was one of the few who had to defer Summer 2011 SAs into 2012. How worried should I be about this summer

Well, if they hired you, it is because they expect to be hiring at least some of your class. They're not doing it to have kids around to take to lunch and for the associates to bang.

Is the firm's revenue decreasing? Are partners defecting? It's hard to say when you're merely presented with a single statistic.

Curious, what firm? Wondering if it is mine too.

How did you find out?

I think you have to pay Am Law to get all of the info, I get the info for my firm and others from their daily emails.

ETA: Have you looked at the office's NALP data? Did they no-offer everyone?

It wasn't no-offers, it was deferrals.. so I think on NALP this just shows up as an offer.

If they're just deferring, you're still doing better than a majority of law school students who don't get big law. Either sack it up or trade up come 3L OCI.

Sorry, wasn't paying attention. Deferrals suck and can be an indication that your firm isn't doing well financially, but I'm not sure what you want anyone to say if you've already accepted your offer.

I guess at this point, this can serve as motivation for you to work hard this semester to keep up or bring up your GPA for 3LOLCI or a clerkship.
