Does this ever happen?
What are the usual reasons? 2L fall grades or background check?
What are the chances of this happening for either of the factors?

to be fair, the other threads were about getting no-offered post SA. this one's about getting it revoked before you even get your foot in the door.

TBF, this is a somewhat more novel question than "How do I get no-offered?" I've never heard of this happening to someone, but I'd be interested in hearing stories if people have any.

Would definitely never happen for fall grades. If they're gonna ding you for that they'll do it after the summer.

Background check seems possible. My offer letter said offer was contingent on it.

Here's a totally unique discussion for you: why are certain people on these boards such a**holes?!

I'll answer this the same way I will answer every other post of this sort: If your grades dropped meaningfully, there is no chance you will get your SA offer revoked. However, there is a significant chance your SA will lead to either a no offer or a cold offer. Firms generally require you to keep relatively the same GPA 2L year with relatively few exceptions. Some firms require your grades to go up because they know 2L year is easier (rhymes with Ribmun Bunn).

This is not quite what I hear.
