How does OCI view Legal Aid for 1L summer?

Title says it all. I went to law school to be able to help people. I know ill be able to once I'm in a firm, but Legal Aid seems like a chance to hit the ground running this summer. yet I don't want to hurt my firm prospects by skipping an internship with a judge for Legal Aid. I read the 1L summer thread but couldn't find any direct info.

Will your legal aid job involve substantive work (e.g., drafting motions and other court filings)? If so, then it's at least as good of a summer 1L job—for OCI purposes—as a judicial internship. It might even be better.
