My count was 124. There are two SAs from Tulane.

Little surprised at the number of Penn students, but other than that, what I expected. Looking forward to seeing everybody this summer.

Also, 23 from NYU is a ton, it's incredible so many people would accept offers from one firm. Having such huge chunks from a few schools must make it a bit bewildering for those students coming from schools that have only one or two.

Meh. NYU is a big school and its not like everyone knows each other. THere were 24 last summer at Cleary and it didn't feel like they were dominating or anything weird like that.

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say no. I think there a few firms that are doing extremely well right now and have been able to show that through increased summer class sizes, but on the whole I do not think it means hiring is picking up. I have heard chatter that some firms are not doing well, and thus their class size has decreased or stayed the same. One example: Latham said their class last year was in the high 40's but they expect the incoming class to be around in the mid 20's.

DPW is doing extremely well and is extremely busy these days. Financial institution M&A, Dodd-Frank work in financial institution advisery, and a hot (if spotty) IPO market have been huge boons. Over the summer the firm was actually turning down a bunch of deals in several markets / practice areas where it just couldn't handle the volume of business coming in.

Interesting to see Cornell with 8, that's higher than MPVDN and even Chicago. That's pretty impressive considering how small Cornell's class size is, which i think only Yale's and Stanford's are smaller.

MVDN and Chicago's graduates are much more spread out than Cornell. Cornell has 200 students per class, and usually at least 60 percent go to NY after graduation. UChicago, for example, has about 205 students per class, and usually less than a quarter go to NY, NJ, and PA combined. Anyway, the numbers are too small to try to glean some idea of X School v. Y School. For all we know, Cornell sent three students to another V10, while MVPDN each sent a dozen.

wow, their yield at NU went from 66% to 20%? i'm surprised.

FWIW... Cornell has 5 at Cravath, at least 2 at S&C, 6 at STB, at least 2 at Weil, several at Cleary, and at least 1 at K&E.
