Do Employers look at UnderGrad GPA?
And if so, what is considered good, average or excellent?

bingham asked for mine but i cant think of another firm that did.Bumi wrote:I'd really appreciate knowing who else does this.
This. Accepted at non Cravath V10, was never asked for UG grades. Only place I interviewed that wanted grades was Cravath. Nobody else cared. Thank god since I split like a mofo.Desert Fox wrote:Cravath and some IP firms are the only ones I know that look for UG at 2L OCI.
Yeah, but "took" probably doesn't include "got a D in."YourCaptain wrote:an associate on a hiring committee at a firm that used to ask for ugpa told me that theyre looking less at your overall gpa and more at what you took.
I've had multiple 1L IP recruiters who like my resume ask for my undergrad transcript, then tell me to get lost. I don't think IP is in my future.Desert Fox wrote:One of my favorite moments of LOLCI was a partner asking me "OUT of what?" when I said 2.8. LOL IP firms.
I didn't get an offer anywhere that saw my UG transcript. I got one callback at a place that saw it, but at the CB they grilled me on my UG grades.Bumi wrote:Yeah, but "took" probably doesn't include "got a D in."YourCaptain wrote:an associate on a hiring committee at a firm that used to ask for ugpa told me that theyre looking less at your overall gpa and more at what you took.

Ugh.Desert Fox wrote:I didn't get an offer anywhere that saw my UG transcript. I got one callback at a place that saw it, but at the CB they grilled me on my UG grades.
You are 1L. They focus on that more for 1L because when they start recruiting in December it's all you have. Firms that asked for my grades for 1L, never asked for 2L.r6_philly wrote:I am aiming for IP lit, and every firm I applied to asked for my UG grades. Probably because of my major? They also seemed to want to talk to me more about UG than law school.
That's what I've seen on TLS before. It's nice to see confirmed.Desert Fox wrote:As a general rule, IP boutiques ask for UG grades. Big Law doesn't.
And I think Cravath is flamming about UG too. I know a dood who got a sub 2.6 with an offer there.bk187 wrote:That's what I've seen on TLS before. It's nice to see confirmed.Desert Fox wrote:As a general rule, IP boutiques ask for UG grades. Big Law doesn't.
Pro or lit? EE FTW.Anonymous User wrote:Got my 1L SA at a top IP firm on dec. 14th because of my 3.9 in BSEE
Pros. And its the 3.9 ftw.r6_philly wrote:Pro or lit? EE FTW.Anonymous User wrote:Got my 1L SA at a top IP firm on dec. 14th because of my 3.9 in BSEE
I have a 4.0 in CS, and going for lit. Sense is if I had EE it would be easier.Anonymous User wrote:
