True - I wonder how any violation of law would be enforced. I just think the setup is strange. If you don't have anything else and they aren't saying "well you can work here but don't use our name for references" then I guess do it. Is there a way to make sure you won't just be doing filing? If they don't usually take 1Ls they may not know what to do with you. So maybe by being super competent you can create a job that has some substance.
So,you don't have anything to lose. Take it and then do a fabulous job and charm the hell out of every single person at the firm.

It is super shady for the firm - but, for him, it is a great opportunity. He is bottom 1/3 of class and has an opportunity to work at a V100. Take it.

Yeah. I'm sure they doDesert Fox wrote:This shit isn't enforced. Companies do unpaid internships commonly ITE.$peppercorn wrote:Our Career office was talking to us about this. Technically the firm can do it as long you do absolutely nothing to benefit the firm or their work. They said the only things that you are allowed to do are things that you could do in an education environment. I'm surprised that a firm would even go through the trouble.
