I'm considering interning for a federal bankruptcy judge for my 1L summer. How much different is it than working for regular federal judge? How much do employers care? I do have a genuine interest in bankruptcy law, however I don't want to close any doors for OCI.

I worked for a podunk BK court. Employers responded rather positively, and I think it was a good experience.

DO IT! Bankruptcy courts are a lot more entertaining than people realize, and you might find yourself liking it.

There are two career clerks and the rest are term clerks. Each judge has one clerk and there is also one additional clerk per floor (2 floors) I keep in touch with three of the clerks still. The clerks are smart, extremely knowledgable, and fairly laid back. Most of the term clerks have moved on - one became a prof, three went to firms. Nice people. Bankruptcy nerds - which I loved because I am one too.
