Include non-LRW Grade on Resume?

1L here. Took a course over summer and was wondering if I should mention an A- on my resume being sent out December 1st. I know sometimes people put a good LRW grade on their resume but I have never heard of what to do in this specific circumstance.

People do this? Just a good LRW grade on one assignment or in the class?

I like the idea. Can you just put GPA 3.7?

Just wondering if GPA 3.7 is deceiving if I have only completed one class.

Since you are a 1L, they will probably ask how you already have a GPA on there. If you tell them "that is for one class I took this summer," that may look kinda odd. Unless the class is Legal Writing or something super related to what the entity does, I wouldn't put it on there.

That's why I was only considering putting the class and the grade.

Also, dare we ask what the curve was on that course?

I don't really see it as deceiving. Just put the GPA. If they ask, say it's the result of a summer course you took. Not sure how they'll fault you for saying that or for doing what you did.

Ask CSO, I am sure they've run into this before, and probably have a preferred method.

I don't see it as deceiving just irrelevant. People put high-pass for LRW on their resume but that's a bit different since it's ungraded and your professor essentially recognized you as one of the best writers. Putting a single grade from a single class seems odd (and desperate) to me.

I think it's because OP is a 1L and is spamming resumes before they'll have any grades from the first semester, right? It makes sense to me like that, having an A- under your belt on a B curve might give you a leg up against the hordes of other 1Ls applying right now who have zero grades. But it's a bit of an odd situation to be sure.

I did that for the summer course I took before 1L started. It looked like this:
Summer Enrichment - Honors

I guess. But I wonder what CSO people are thinking sometimes, they have given me some bad advice in the past. Maybe it would be better to discuss it in your cover letter instead of putting it on your resume; just an idea. Certainly nothing wrong with following CSO's advice though, especially as a 1st semester 1L.

just do it, especially since CSO is allowing you to.

look, if you leave it off, you'll just be one of thousands of spammed resumes. if you put a grade there, at least 1) it'll stand out from the rest and 2) it'll give some indication that you can do well. i highly doubt any firm would fault you for putting it there.
