Whats up with the misconception of a "corporate" lawyer?

so ordinary friends ask me, what kind of law are you going to do. I tell them "litigation at a large firm."
then they respond, "oh, i guess you're not doing corporate law, where all the money is." and then they act like they feel bad for me. I'm just like uhhhhh... i have to explain to them that corporate lawyers and litigation lawyers make the same amount (starting) at big law.
am i the only one who meet ordinary people, who have this misconception of "corporate" big law lawyers?
for all you litigation folks, what do you say?

maybe you should just tell them that you are a corporate lawyer, since you are.

clients at big firm are corporations = you are a corporate lawyer
