I am deciding between NY and Dallas for BigLaw. My offer in Dallas is at JonesDay which means there's not set compensation system... While 160,000 goes farther in dallas than ny, if im still making 160,000 as a 3rd year versus 180-205,000 in ny, Dallas has less of an advantage.
Does anyone have any insight into Dallas big law compensation?

Aside from a few firms (*cough* Weil *cough*), Texas firms usually have a compressed lock-step. Typical NY payscale is 160-170-185-210; TX is more like 160-165-170-175. 175K in Dallas will still get you much much farther than 210 in NYC.

Inorite? And honestly after city tax and MFH rent, that seems high.
