Thoughts? (Dear Moderators, it would be great if you could implement a poll whereby we could present 3+ choices and rank them numerically.)

Poll worthless w/o knowing what you want to do. Overall, I would prefer to be at one of the arguably 3 best DC firms, than a really solid, but not really one of the best NYC lit firms.

Once a DC, always a DC...

well, maybe not entirely...but the move from DC to NY is not as easy as people here try to make it sound. But then again, maybe you don't want that move.

So, where do you want to LIVE - DC or NY?

Not even remotely true. It depends on your practice area.

This is a huge overgeneralization. It depends on your practice area. Doing regulatory work that really only exists in DC? Yea, good luck breaking into NYC. Doing sec. reg./IP/commercial lit.? You'll be okay.
