DC Income After Taxes?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Oct 07, 2011 10:08 pm

There are a zillion threads on this about NY, can someone please tell me how much one takes home in DC after tax? Online calculators have lead me to this conclusion:

DC $160K after taxes = (about) $100,880
NY $160K after taxes = (about) $96,460

Is this about right?

DC: 160,000 - 38 417 (Federal) - 12060 (DC) - 10000 (SS) = $99,523

DC top rate is $2,200 + 8.5% for any amount over $40,000 with a deduction of $4,000 if you're single. So 2200+ (116,000 * .085) = 12060.

Many Biglaw-bound, math-troubled TLSers that are GOP or independent are hoping Herman Cain gets elected and can convince Congress of his 9-9-9 plan.
