Possible to get LA Biglaw from T10 with ONLY ties to NorCal?
Grew up in SV, went to Stanford/Berkeley, but I want to live in LA long term-- (better weather, warm beaches, huge Laker fan, etc). But I have NO ties to LA/SoCal, outside of my best friend living there. Maybe try and get 1L job in LA? How doable is this- provided I get decent (top 1/3 ish) grades? Thanks, TLS!

I got LA (multiple V20 offers) without having any ties whatsoever to SoCal. In fact, my only tie to California at all was the one year I had just spent at Boalt. Other than that I spent my entire life in the Mid-Atlantic.

very doable. obviously working there 1L will help.
i have a similar bg and found that socal with norcal ties was easier than norcal with norcal ties.

Got offers from Proskauer (LA) and Latham (LA and OC) and my only connections were to San Francisco. UT/Top 25%/Secondary Journal.

Got offers in OC/LA with only spending 1L summer there (going to MVP, and from Arizona originally).

Srsly tho, work there 1L year. I don't think Northern California to Southern California is that big of a jump. People go East Coast to LA all the time.
