Is there a hiring partner convention going on?

So when one firm told me that the hiring partners were called out of town, I decided to presume the firm was being honest. Now that a second firm has told me the same "shpiel," I'm realizing its not true.

What's up with that? Why not just say "we're waiting on outstanding offers"??

I've heard from 3 firms the hiring partners are on a retreat. Its definitely a tactic they use.

I mean, i'm not an authority, but that seems to be the case.

The only other iption I can think of is a Hiring Partner Conference. lol.

They're just trying to convince you that the partners sometimes take vacations. Don't believe it.

HAHAHAHA. exactly how I feel. I think I'll get this framed and put it up in my first office (that is hopefully not under my own shingle).

lolol good for you, seriously. it sounds like you're really still in it -- fingers crossed.

BUT law firms, come on. you can get more creative than that or be more forthcoming? a convention sounds like a weak guise...
