Callback Interview - What to do with my luggage?

I have to check out of the hotel by noon. My interview is at 2. I brought my suit in a garment bag, and a backpack with misc travel stuff. What am I supposed to do with my luggage? I feel like an idiot having to bring it with me to the firm.

Most hotels will hold it for you. Otherwise, bring it to the firm and put it in the coat closet in the reception area (all firms have one).

Nice hotels will gladly check your luggage. Tip the bellhop. The receptionist at your firm will also gladly check the luggage. It won't change your prospects. You don't have to tip the receptionist.

Check it at your hotel's bell desk after you check out and pick it up when you're ready to leave. That's what the bell desk is for.

And you can change clothes in the hotel lobby bathroom if you don't want to travel in the suit.

The better question is where to leave your baggage.

During my callbacks last week, I just checked it at the hotel I was checking out of. This week, I may have to run to an interview straight from the airport. Plan was to check it in with somebody at the firm. Don't expect it to be a big deal.

If it's at a firm where it'd have any impact on your candidacy you probably don't want to work there.

"Look at THAT guy. Who does he think he is? I mean, really. Who brings luggage when they travel. No WAY he's getting this job."
