Re: Atlanta Callbacks
I have a cb with a big ATL firm this coming week. I'm kind of skeptical that its so late in the process, I feel like they only have uhh one spot available? Are other ATL firms still doing cb's this late?

Re: Atlanta Callbacks
I had a blatant error on my resume. Besides that, I thought the callback went fairly well. One thing that I would emphasize is, at least for my CB, you meet with a VERY important partner last. I had lunch with the heads of two practice groups and I thought it was my worst interview of the day. Those last two people almost certainly have the most impact on whether or not you get the thumbs up, so try your best to be the best for the last interview in particular. Good luck!Anonymous User wrote:Thanks for the info. Any idea what went wrong? Callbacks from Baker Donelson, Chamberlain, and Smith Gambrell Russell. Snail mail rejection from Arnall Golden Gregory. My friends who didn't receive early offers from the big firms haven't heard anything new.

True, but I don't think firms have cut back class sizes from what I can tell. Could just be luck of the draw with more kids applying to Atlanta this year. That's how it seemed at my school (V)Anonymous User wrote:http://www.ajc.com/business/atlanta-top ... 90904.htmlGrizz wrote:This place is a slaughterhouse this year.

Agreed, or lack of Atlanta TLS posters. Every firm I got an offer from indicated they were expanding their summer class this year over last year.Anonymous User wrote:True, but I don't think firms have cut back class sizes from what I can tell. had a cb this week. how much of a disadvantage do you think this will be?
Anyone know if ATL offers went out in august? I keep telling myself that if they didn't start until september then its not too bad

Did mine there a week ago after screening interview late in the previous week. They are still screening. I think they had a low yield.Anonymous User wrote:I think first wave of offers are out but people could still say no.Anonymous User wrote:Cmonnnn McKenna. Only shot at ATL now. Only CB I got there. Trust me, as someone with absurd Georgia ties who attends UVA, Atlanta is a DISASTER ZONE. Frankly if you don't have above median grades at UVA, Duke, or HYS, your chances are disatrous.

Re: Atlanta Callbacks
I agree with this. I'm around top 1/3 at UCLA/UT (not Vandy) with significant Atlanta ties and it's becoming increasingly likely that I'll be shut out with each passing day. Luckily, I didn't put all my eggs in this basket and have offers elsewhere.Anonymous User wrote:Trust me, as someone with absurd Georgia ties who attends UVA, Atlanta is a DISASTER ZONE. The top students at UGA/Emory have options as well. It seems like I keep running into the same people at callbacks.Anonymous User wrote:I agree with this. Re: Atlanta Callbacks
Top 10-20% is doing pretty well this year. A LOT of the top people have jobs in NYC. Top 10-20% it seems have been getting vault jobs relatively easily. It's always been this way at Emory: if you are in the top 10-20% you should be fine as long as you are somewhat geographically flexible. HTHMavraides87 wrote:How is Emory doing in Atlanta?
