So...how is everyone feeling about being able to get to NYC/Boston/DC/Philly next Monday or Tuesday? Doesn't look good.

Have callbacks on Monday and Tuesday in NYC. Firm flying me in on Saturday instead of Sunday. Hopefully it works out.

I have one on Monday in Boston. It's a 2h drive for me. They've yet to cancel.

Could get messy depending on how backed up things get.

Flying out from the Northeast on Sunday to arrive in SF/LA. Late flight to arrive at 10pm for a morning interview the next day. Am I screwed?

Probably. I'd contact the recruiting office and see if you can move your flight to Saturday. The worst of it should be Sunday afternoon/night in the NE. If your flight even takes off, it's probably be delayed, and it doesn't really seem like you have any buffer time.

Driving around New England/New York should probably be ok on Saturday or Monday, but plan for major traffic just in case. Flying in or out of here on Sunday will likely be Failville. Flying in/out on Saturday or Monday should be ok.

(In my experience growing up around here, you can usually drive around just fine immediately following an epic storm. We've never had anything of Katrina proportions or anything, but we're pretty accustomed to Irene-sized systems coming through. No big deal.)

how late sunday? weather doesnt get really nasty til sunday late night/monday morning. delays might screw u though. id definitely move to saturday if u want to be safe--but thousands of people probably beat u to it at this point.

There is no way in hell this flight is getting out.

Probably not looking too good... but can't you just call the firm and explain that you might not be able to make it due to the massive storm that's about to tear through the northeast? I think they'd understand and reschedule you with no problem.

Depends where. NY/Bos probably okay, if it's early enough. DC area likely no.

Seriously though guys, just look at the weather and make a determination. There's about a billion models that tell you about when the storm should hit particular areas.

One of my firms cancelled my callback.

Supposed to have a callback Tuesday morning, firm called to confirm it this morning.

My Monday callback got pushed back to Weds

I've got one Monday, not canceled as of yet.

Milbank NYC moved my callback from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon.

Ditto. My Tuesday morning one appears to be locked in place still, but that should be fine.

An earthquake and hurricane in same week...

The city is closing down mass transit tomorrow at noon. No buses, trains, commuter lines, access a rides. Does not plan on running mass transit until monday after rush hour as they want to first assess any possible damage.

If you can fly in early saturday, I would recommend doing so. You probably will not be flying into NYC on sunday

It's questionable as to wether this will actually work out for you. Some airlines (American, few others) have already canceled all flights after noon from Dulles. I don't know where your connection is, but if it's Charlotte/DC/Philly, and it's after noon/night, there's a really good chance that it's going to get canceled.

I was in a similar position, and my Monday firm bumped me back to Wednesday, so I could fly in Monday instead of Saturday.

I live in NY, and I actually was able to move up a CB to Monday because so many out-of-towners have cancelled. On the other hand, one of my callbacks in the financial district (Evacuation Zone 1) cancelled on me, but fortunately rescheduled for Wednesday.

Milbank, Cadwalader, Stroock etc... all won't be seeing anyone Monday. Midtown will be fine.
