I know that firms' CB:Offer ratios vary from office to office and year to year. But are there general trends about any particular firms? I've read that SullCrom generally has about 90%. Any others?

You'll get an offer or a ding when the hiring committee meets, which could be anytime from 1 day to 2 weeks afterward. It's very random and depends on how busy the people you meet with + the committee itself are. Historically Davis Polk is amongst the most selective large law firms at the callback stage, post-callback offer rates of 20-30% aren't unheard of.

Something over 90% of the people at my school pass the bar on the first try. It does not mean they don't have to try very hard to pass it.

nb: data is historical and subject to change

S&C: 90%+
Most large firms: between ~50% and ~70%
DPW: 20-30%:
Some small firms: as low as 5-10%

Probably detailed statistics from Columbia, which are to my knowledge the only good info out there.

It is safe to assume that firms treat candidates who have already received callbacks as a relatively homogeneous group. Columbia is the most robust data set but hardly the only one available, and all of the spreadsheets, anecdotes, and tabulations to which I have access suggest that the numbers quoted in this thread are broadly accurate for all firms and all schools at which they hire from in significant numbers.

If you get a CB from a mailed application at a firm and you're the only one from your school, then the "CB:Offer ratio" is kind of a meaningless concept anyway, you're just in a different category.

I know it's tempting to fall into worrying about stuff like this, but you'd be wise to just do your best in each interview and never feel safe. Totally anecdotal evidence here, but when I did OCI in 2009 I got rejected after a callback from S&C but got offers from DPW and other more selective (at the callback stage) firms. It's not like law school admissions where you can be an 'autoadmit,' you need to hustle every time.
