PSA: 1st word in Knobbe Martens is pronounced "kin-oh-bee"

As in, "Luke Skywalker clerked for Obi-Wan Knobbe before taking a full-time position with the Alliance."
This completely contradicts every phonetic cannon of the English language, but I still suspect that those applicants who lead off their OCI by asking "How is 'knob' Martens different from other SoCal IP firms?" are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to callbacks.

Hire me, Obi-Wan Knobbe, you're my only hope.

Mispronouncing their name is still better than calling the firm by their direct rival's name... Needless to say I have not gotten a callback.

one of my favorite firm names for that reason.
but honestly it's very easy to avoid saying the name of the firm without it sounding unnatural. "your office" works pretty well.

There are others. You'd think it's "kuh-HIL", right? But it's "KAY-hil". Still got a CB from Cahill, though.
Desmarais and Debevoise trip people up, too, but just remember that they're not actually French. Although "des-MER-is" is still pretty counterintuitive.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in Fried Frank interviews and see how many people pronounce it like some kind of hot dog dipped in batter at a carnival.

...well... no.

Congrats on the callback, I did not get one despite pronouncing their name properly.
I am having moments in interviews where I don't know whether their generally accepted short formĀ is the first one or two named partners. Sometimes I'll say the first name and wait and if they start nodding I'll stop there.
