Confused About Interview

I was dinged via OCI ("not invited") on Symplicty, but I just got a phone call inviting me to an interview. I'm the last interview of the day. Is this like a pity interview or what?

law firms don't have pity.

You're like the team that gets invited to the play in game in the NCAA tournament. Even if you win all you have waiting for you is the number one overall seed.

In all seriousness even if you only have a small chance it is still a chance. Consider yourself lucky that a spot opened up and make the most of it.

Probably last minute cancellation after they ran out of alternates? If your numbers are reasonable, you've got as good of a chance as anybody...

I got an interview like this earlier this month. Not selected in the program I applied to, but called in for a screener anyway. I trekked all the way down to the firm's office, took half an hour of a partner's time, and was dinged within 24 hours.

I didn't see the point.

Hmm.. I agree that law firms do not pity. It all depends on your performance. I was scheduled for a screener schedule during OCI in the last minute and I got a CB. Hence, a last-min addition can still worth at least 3-4 billable hours.

The law firm wanted to interview her so much, they made room for her. It's a good sign not a bad one.
