We have all seen how difficult it is for JD graduates to gain employment and read about the 'scam' against some modern legal students. My question is, how long have these issues been going on? Are they new (>20 years old) issues in the legal world, or just old problems that are new to most of us since we previously didn't need to know or didn't care?

Life has always sucked for most graduates of Tier 3 and 4 law schools.

oversaturation and the fact that many TTT grads face abysmal legal employment prospects is nothing new. however, that problem has risen to the level of "holy shit" due to the combination of absurd increases in tuition over the past 2 decades combined with the effects of the recession. that is what has drawn the increased attention. it was basically the straw that broke the camel's back. or rather, the anvil that broke the camel's back.
