I've been told that nothing can happen until 9/6/2011 as far as hiring goes, but I just signed up for OSCAR and tons of clerkship spots are filled already and some judges have application dates violating the Labor Day rule. What gives?

Lots of judges go "off plan" and hire before the usual hiring season. From what I can see and what I can find on lawclerkaddict.com, some judges still stick strictly to the plan, but they are the minority.

Your career services didn't tell you any of this stuff?
