Job Prospects

So five years after graduating from Law School I finally decided to take the Florida Bar Examination. I currently am pending results.
I graduated from a 4T law school, law review editor, 3.05 GPA.
I have worked for the United Nations in Geneva, Switz., taught college, USMC, and have clerked for an insurance firm. I also have experience as property insurance adjuster.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice in regards to getting a position with a good law firm or judicial clerkship.

Also since I am not a student but not a true lateral hire how should I go about applying for law firms?

The first question any firm/employer that may have interest is going to want to know is why did you wait 5 years to take the bar exam. If you don't have a good answer, to be honest I would not hire you if I was an employer. If you do have a good answer, like you were in the military or something, work that into your cover letter and email lots of firms. I don't think you will be able to get a judicial clerkship 5 years out of law school with no experience practicing.

1. What about not including my graduation date on my resume?

2. I decided I wanted to teach college. It was on my bucket list.
