What is it supposed to mean? That I'm laughing at the fact that firms are sitting there watching the market right now and thinking, OMG what are we going to do!?! Slash SA classes in half!!!!PM61 wrote:what does LOL mean in this context?ndirish2010 wrote:LOL.Anonymous User wrote:Welcome to another legal hiring crash.

I often wish I'd been born in 1930 or something so I could've experience the post-war boom.NYC Law wrote:Fuck.
*Why couldn't I have been born 6 years earlier*
If we're messing with birth dates, I'd rather be born in the future. Granted, it could be a future wracked by nuclear war and pollution, but the upsides are pretty awesome.mpj_3050 wrote:I often wish I'd been born in 1930 or something so I could've experience the post-war boom.NYC Law wrote:Fuck.

It's a little concerning that the one positive post in this thread was turned into "." - why'd you do that, mths?mths wrote:.

I anticipated the negativity taking over and I wasn't really about to deal with it haha.johndhi wrote:It's a little concerning that the one positive post in this thread was turned into "." - why'd you do that, mths?mths wrote:.
I'm not particularly familiar with the reasons for the original crash in legal hiring, but hope this doesn't affect us like it did them.
Hey Barack, I don't want to be a blabbermouth but I heard Putin and Medvedev saying some pretty awful things about your mother...NYC Law wrote:I don't think anyone is seriously worried about this in and of itself could lead to slashes in legal hiring, it's just the prospect of another looming recession...
At this rate will the future ever even be better? It just gets worse, and now we don't have a World War to save us.
Unless...
My great uncle (from Poland) was imprisoned in Siberia by the Soviets a long time ago, and eventually was released, and came to America. His stories of Siberia made it sound pretty shitty. I think I'll take shitlaw as well.fathergoose wrote:Hey Barack, I don't want to be a blabbermouth but I heard Putin and Medvedev saying some pretty awful things about your mother...NYC Law wrote:I don't think anyone is seriously worried about this in and of itself could lead to slashes in legal hiring, it's just the prospect of another looming recession...

But seriously I'd take shit law over trudging through siberia getting shot at by crazy russians. If Call of Duty taught me anything, it's to not mess with the ruskies
Did MSNBC tell you that?Eco wrote:This is what the country gets for electing tea party nut jobs who hijack the economy and point out its weaknesses. Ridiculous. We're so screwed.

War chests that they aren't using to create jobs or use to invest because they are all scared shitless about the environment Obama has created.Anonymous User wrote:Sitting at the desk in my major wall street firm. No panic, work coming in at a steady pace, everyone is busy.
Last time stocks fell because industry hit a tough patch. Today stocks are falling because people are selling stocks. Corporate deal, litigation, and regulation spending is humming along, IPOs are hot, and companies are sitting on massive war chests plus strong earnings.
Chill.
