Mass-Mailing
I've already mass-mailed most of the firms from the region where I currently go to school. However, I was wondering about the logistics of mass-mailing and subsequently interviewing with firms in other areas of the country where I am not currently located. Do they do phone interviews or skip the screening stage and do call-backs? Do you fly out on your own dime and just hope to god you land something? Should I just not apply to these firms?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Mass-Mailing
I have been mass mailing firms on the other side of the country and have had little luck so far. I have heard from others that firms would be willing to do phone or video interviews but I haven't had any willing to do this so far. The firms that have responded have all expected me to fly out on my own dime for a screener.
From alums I have contacted in the area, they all got jobs in this market by paying for their own flights.

I have had phone interviews, and I have had direct call backs. Some firms have expected me to just show up somehow for a screening interview, but I haven't done that.bilboteabaggins wrote:I've already mass-mailed most of the firms from the region where I currently go to school. does anyone know from past experiences if callbacks set up through mass mailing yield the same amount of offers?Anonymous User wrote:Cahill is reimbursing my flight.

I just asked the recruiting lady when I called to schedule the CB. My school and stats are really good, but from the way she answered it seemed like it was standard.Anonymous User wrote:How did you go about setting this up?Anonymous User wrote:Cahill is reimbursing my flight.

Yeah, I had the same experience with Cahill. Out of curiosity, how did they contact you initially?Anonymous User wrote:I just asked the recruiting lady when I called to schedule the CB. I'll be in NYC anyway but it's good to know they'll do that.Anonymous User wrote:I just asked the recruiting lady when I called to schedule the CB. I got an e-mail from a partner, which gave me the recruiting contact's numbers and mentioned a "round of interviews"Anonymous User wrote:Yeah, I had the same experience with Cahill. I think this is pretty standard for them, I wonder how many of these pre-OCI callbacks they are doing. It will be interesting to hear if anyone gets an early offer.Anonymous User wrote:I got an e-mail from a partner, which gave me the recruiting contact's numbers and mentioned a "round of interviews"

Seems like a bunch if TLS is any indication. Then again, it could be the same handful of us posting multiple times in different threads. Cahill doesn't do OCI at many schools, so it's not really surprising that they're doing these interviews.Anonymous User wrote:I think this is pretty standard for them, I wonder how many of these pre-OCI callbacks they are doing. Re: Mass-Mailing
Did you just initially cold-mail Cahill? Their site doesn't seem to have a summer recruiting contact.

People with Cahill interviews- do they reimburse for cab/meal expenses as well? I never asked and now I don't really know if I should.

Well, I gather they do since it's included on the form.Anonymous User wrote:People with Cahill interviews- do they reimburse for cab/meal expenses as well? I never asked and now I don't really know if I should.
