What is this bidding system that everybody talks about when referring to OCI's?
Are you ranking firms based on preference and these firms see these rankings?

Something like that. But relax, man. Do not worry about this until you are even in law school. Judging by your posting history, you're still applying. One step at a time.

Firms don't see your rankings, they only see a list of people who bid on their firm (including, at least at my school, those who bid but did not get an interview).

In a lottery system you bid on firms in order of your preference, and interviews are determined based on how people ranked the firm and how many interview slots the employer has.

I'm not really sure how the bid 'ranking" system works in a preselect system (if it has any function at all). I'm sure someone else can shed some light on that.

We just bid on firms. There are more firms coming than available bids, so you pick the ones you think would work best and bid. If they like you, they schedule an interview. No lottery.

Our school is 100% preselect. Basically you have X amount of bids and you sned that many bids to firms and then out of those they decide who they like and who they dont.
